Special Colombian Dance Weekend in Bangkok!

From 12-14 July 2018, Bangkok will host some exciting Colombian dance happenings featuring champion salsa troupe Swing Latino. Committed to the promotion of Colombia’s cultural traditions, the Embassy of Colombia in Thailand has been celebrating the country’s independence each July by showcasing the talent of the best exponents of Colombia’s folklore. Whether you’re a salsa social pro or an admiring spectator, claim your spot at these upcoming events:

Thursday 12 July 2018: The Colombian Embassy Presents Swing Latino at the BACC

World champion salsa group Swing Latino will be stopping by Bangkok as part of their South-East Asia tour to give a special performance hosted by the Colombian Embassy in Thailand at the BACC. Coming all the way from Cali – the world’s salsa capital – Swing Latino came third in 2017’s edition of World of Dance.

Because the show will put you in the mood, dance salsa, bachata, cha cha and merengue at the Salsa Bangkok Party, with a view over the city’s sparkling skyline. More than just a dance social, the Salsa Bangkok Party is a friendly community open to all levels. It takes place on the second and fourth weekend of every month.

Saturday 14th July 2018: Swing Latino Colombian Salsa Workshop

Probably (in my opinion) the happiest style of salsa, learn how some fancy footwork and bouncy knee tricks can add some Cali-style to your salsa basics. There are two levels, so if you don’t dance, you can still join the beginner class.
